Abstract
693,997. Gas burners. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP DE BATAAFSCHE PETROLEUM MAATSCHAPPIJ. Feb. 13, 1951 [Feb. 13, 1950], No. 3495/51. Class 75(i) A gas burner has an annular air outlet port formed between a mouthpiece 6 on. the end of an air duct 4 and the outlet end 8 of a gas duct 1, and an annular gas port between the outlet end of the gas duct 1 and an adjustable valve 2 situated centrally at the outlet end of the gas duct, and a set of helical channels or blades 3 in the gas duct adjacent its outlet end. The mouthpiece 6 on the end of the air duct is curved outwardly and extends beyond the end of the gas duct and the air outlet passage is of minimum cross section upstream of the gas outlet. The air duct 4 surrounds the forward part of the gas duct 1. Air inlets 14 near the rear end of the air duct are opened by an adjustable ring 5. The air may be supplied under pressure or it may be drawn in by the gas. The air may be given a rotary movement. The gas duct as closed at its rear end by a plug 12 and is provided near its rear end with a gas connection 7. The stem of the valve 2 extends through the gas duct and through the closure plug 12 with which it has threaded engagement. The helical blades are formed on a part of the valve stem or on the outlet end 8 of the gas duct.
