Abstract

294,828. Falkner, A. J. Dec. 6, 1927. Atmospheric gas burners. - A housing 1 having a gas inlet 2 and an air inlet 3 is fitted with a hollow plug 4 having corresponding openings 6, 11 so that, on rotating the plug by means of an external knob 12, the gas and air supplies are simultaneously controlled. The external diameter of the plug is reduced, or the internal diameter of the housing is increased, at the parts where the openings 6, 11 are formed so as to provide annular passages 16 for maintaining communication between the inlets and openings irrespective of the angular position of the plug. The outlet of the gas duct 7 in the plug may be controlled by a needle valve 14. The housing is preferably connected with the burner proper by means of an extension having a constriction 17.
