[Also in Group XI] A throttling chamber for controlling the flow of compressed or condensed gaseous fuel from a supply source to a gas burner has two of its walls spaced a small distance apart to form a fissure-like fuel throttling passage, which passage either lies in a direction transverse to the general direction of flow and through which passage the fuel flows radially with respect to the general direction of flow, or the spacing of the walls is effected by rigid spacers, Surfaces 12, 12', Fig. 1, of the throttling passages 11 are spaced a fixed distance apart from an intervening disc 14 by means of spacer elements 13, such as lugs, Fig. 2 (not shown) formed on the latter. As shown in Fig. 4 the throttling passages 31 may be formed between spherical surfaces 26, 27 held apart by spacer elements 28 formed thereon or between the walls 37 of a passage 34, located by spacer elements 38 formed on the walls. The throttling passages, Fig. 3 (not shown) may be formed between the ground surfaces and an apertured intervening disc held apart by annular spacer elements. In a modification, Fig. 5, the throttling passages 47, 48 are formed on the ground surfaces of a disc 43 by an etching process or alternatively by etching the surfaces of walls 44, 45. All the surfaces may be etched to form throttling passages of twice the normal width.
