Abstract
995,217. Pulsating type combustion chambers. JUNKERS & CO. G.m.b.H. Dec. 16, 1963 [Dec. 24, 1962], No. 49505/63. Heading F1L. [Also in Division F2] A pulsating type combustion chamber has a fuel and air inlet device comprising a housing 10 surrounding a disc 12 having concentric rings of holes 14, 15, 16. A disc 19 and concentric ring 20 have rings of holes 24, 25, 26 aligned with holes 14, 15, 16 in disc 12. A flexible closure ring 27 and similar rings 28, 29 mounted on an annular partition 31 co-operate with the holes to form non-return valves. A second partition 30 is mounted in the annular gap 21 between disc 19 and ring 20 so as to promote mixing within the gap of air flowing through holes 15 and gaseous fuel flowing through holes 14 from chest 18. Combustion air also flows through holes 16 and annular gap 22. A bolt 33 retains a spring bridge 32 which can be adjusted to alter the axial position of ring 20 and thus the stroke of flexible rings 28, 29. In a modification disc 19 and ring 20 are replaced by a single disc with equivalent holes.
