Abstract
1425469 Valves DUNLOP Ltd 14 May 1973 [23 May 1972] 24122/72 Heading F2V [Also in Division F4] A temperature-dependent fuel flow rate regulator, for use with a gas burner 4 in which the gas mixes with combustion air on leaving the burner, comprises a cylindrical block 2 having a number of gas passages 6 the outlets of which are covered by a split bi-metallic band 1 which expands as the burner warms up to increase the gas flow to the burner. On first lighting the burner the passages 6 are all closed and gas is supplied through an uncontrolled orifice 12. The band 1 is supported above a shoulder 7, so that gas may flow freely around it, by providing projections (not shown) on the lower edge of the band or by pinning the band to the block.
