681,347. Root-crop harvesters. BAMFORDS, Ltd. Dec. 25, 1948 [Dec. 30, 1947], No. 32091/48. Divided out of 681,342. Class 6(iii) In a machine for raising root crops, a single member 10 of tubular form, disposed transversely to the direction of travel, supports a digging share 42, digging element 28 and receiving element or elements if used, together with means for transmitting power to the digging and receiving elements. As shown the machine is mounted on lifting links 13, 35 of a tractor by means disclosed in Specification 681,342. A fork 25 is connected to a tractor power take-off shaft and is mounted on a shaft which drives the digging and receiving elements through a gear box 23. The lifting arms may be operated by a hydraulic or power operated system on the tractor. The machine may be partly supported by wheels which may drive the digging and receiving elements.
