561,482. Potato diggers. AVELINE-BARFORD, Ltd., and HENDERSON, W. M. Nov. 20, 1942, No. 16437. [Class 6 (iii)] A potato digging attachment for an agricultural tractor comprises a frame structure 10, shown in plan in Fig. 2, detachably mounted on the tractor, a lever 15 connected to the frame and movable about a pivotal axis extending in the direction of travel of the tractor, a potato digging rotor 11 and a share 12 carried by the lever, and power transmission gearing for connecting the rotor to the power take-off shaft or the like of the tractor. The rotor and share being mounted on the lever can be raised to the inoperative or lowered into the operative position. In the construction shown, the potato dig. ging rotor 11 is mounted on a shafi 14 connected to the lever 15, the latter being mounted on a horizontal pivot 16 connected to the frame 10 The pivot 16 carries a sprocket 17 connected by chain 19 to a sprocket 20 on shaft 14, and a sprocket 18 connected by a chain 21 to a sprocket 22 mounted on the frame 10 Sprocket 22 is geared by wheels 23 24 to a shaft 13 which is driven by take-off shaft of the tractor. The share 12 is carried by a bracket 25 mounted on the lever 15, and the latter is fitted with a pedal 26 for raising or lowering the share and rotoras desired.
