Abstract

789,106. Agricultural implements. GRANT, C. J. C. Dec. 23, 1955 [Jan. 25, 1955], No. 36974/55. Class 6(1). A rotary cultivator comprises blades 19 mounted on a shaft 17 situated obliquely to the direction of movement of the machine and driven from a tractor power shaft at a speed independent of the forward speed of the tractor. As shown, the blades 19 are bolted to hubs 28 welded to the shaft 17 which is driven by chain gearing 26 from a half-shaft 24 connected to the tractor power shaft through a differential gearing 22, universal joint 21 and shaft 20. The frame 10 of the machine is arranged to be connected to the lift arms 34, 35, 36 of a tractor. Ground wheels 38, 39 may be provided and the blades may be partially covered by a hood (not shown).
