521,832. Tractors; driving external machines. FERGUSON, H. G. Nov. 30, 1938, No. 22132/39. Divided out of 510,352. [Classes 79 (i) and 79 (ii)] An agricultural tractor, having three triangular-spaced elements for the attachment of hitch links and a rearwardly directed powertake-up shaft as - described in Specification 510,352, is provided with additional attachment means for rigidly attaching to and supporting on the tractor a driven element, such as a belt pulley for a thrashing machine, instead of the potato digger or other agricultural implement, referred to in Specification 510,352, which is attached by means of the hitch links. As shown, the end cap 6 of the tractor has two laterally-spaced aperture lugs 7 with apertures having a common axis passing through the universal joint at the end of the power take-off shaft 4. Two closely spaced aperture lugs 8 are also provided adjacent the point of attachment of the upper hitch link 1. The shaft of a belt pulley 9 extends through a casing 10 enclosing bevel gearing which transmits the drive from the shaft 4 and a.shaft 11 having sliding engagement with the splined end of the shaft 4 to the shaft of the pulley 9. The casing 10 is supported by lugs 7a, which are pinned to the lugs 7, and by a double link 13 pinned to the lugs 8. When the power transmission element is removed, the lugs 7 may be used for attaching a draw-bar 15, Fig. 4.
