Abstract
902,170. Power take-off drives; tractors. MORTL, K. March 20, 1961 [March 19, 1960], No. 10091/61. Classes 79(2) and 79(4). In a tractor having a front axle pivoted about an axis coaxial with the engine shaft, an implement drive is taken from an extension of the engine shaft passing through the axle. The axle 10 is pivoted on a bearing bush 9 and the forwardly extending part of the engine shaft, to which a fan belt pulley 3 is fixed, is connected by a flexible coupling 4 and dog clutch 5, 6 to a shaft 7 passing through the bush 9 and being seated on a bearing 9a at its forward end. A drive shaft 15 for the implement is connected to the shaft 7 by belt and pulleys 12, 13, 14. A friction clutch 18 may be incorporated in the shaft 15 or in the shaft 7. The tractor may be equipped with a front towing device 23 and a front loader, the frame 19 of which is cranked at 20 to accommodate the shaft 15. Power take-off drives are also provided at the rear of the tractor.
