Abstract

678,392. Two-part couplings. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES, Ltd. Jan. 10, 1951 [Jan. 10, 1950], No. 656/50. Class 38 (i). In a cable coupling in which the socket contacts 1a and the pin contacts 1b are moulded in rigid shrinkable insulating bodies 4a, 4b, the embedded portions thereof are formed as shanks 7a, 7b which are surrounded by elasticmaterial sleeves 9a, 9b to allow for misalignments of the co-operating contacts, and terminate in spherical ends 8a, 8b, to which the conductors 2a, 2b of the cables 3a, 3b are connected before the moulding operation.
