Abstract

725,498. Two-part couplings; cable terminals. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. July 20, 1953 [July 26, 1952], No. 19999/53. Class 38 (1). In a plug and socket connector, each cable 44, Fig. 2, is connected to a pin 28 (or socket) by means of a sleeve 42 which is first soldered to be bared cable end and crimped on to the insulation thereof, the sleeve then being soldered into a cable-receiving recess 40 on the pin. Fig. 1 shows a connector for an aircraft wiring harness in which pins 28 and sockets 30 with cables attached as above are supported by soft rubber blocks 32, 34, 38 in a sleeve 14 retained in an armouring member 10 by a split nut 12. An armouring member 18 is also secured to sleeve 14 by a nut 16.
