Abstract

672,517. Rotary meters. BOPP & RUETHER GES. July 31, 1950 [Aug. 1, 1949], No, 19020/50. Class 110(ii) The meter has a series of inlet ports 3 and a series of outlet ports 4, spaced axially apart in the operating chamber wall, each series comprising ducts of rectangular cross-section the inner ends of which extend over substantially the whole of the inner periphery of the chamber at the respective axial stations. The ducts may be straight, curved or partly straight and partly curved, the latter being shown in Fig. 3. The measuring chamber, Fig. 5, is formed by a ring 7, supported by a casing wall 8 which divides inlet and outlet sides of the meter. Rims 11 and 12 form seals at the ends of the chamber. Inlet ducts 10 and outlets 9 are provided. In another arrangement, Fig. 6, (not shown), the inlets are placed in an annular part of the casing which also has an extension to form the wall dividing inlet from outlet sides. A further modification, Fig. 7, (not shown), has a cup-shaped measuring chamber in the outer casing with inlets 10 piercing the outer wall.
