759,431. Gas meters. KROMSCHRODER AKT.-GES., G. Aug. 13, 1954 [Aug. 13, 1953], No. 23563/54. Class 54. A slide-valve-controlled dry gas meter comprises two pairs of measuring chambers in each of which a diaphragm 5, Fig. 4, is held between an external box 3 and an internal box 4, the two external boxes being sealed together along their marginal portions 8 to form a gas duct 10 which surrounds the internal boxes 4. The duct 10 communicates by way of ports 21 in the marginal portions 8 with a hollow member 21 leading to a union 19 concentric with an inlet union 22 which admits gas to the interior of the casing 1. Each pair of measuring chambers is controlled by a D-type slide valve 12 which is driven by a crank 23 mounted on the member 21 and allows gas to flow alternately through ducts 13, 15 to opposite sides of the diaphragm 5, the measured gas passing through the valve port to the duct 10. The measuring chambers are located inside the casing 1 by means of a rib which abuts one side of the marginal portions 8 so that the outside face of one of the boxes 3 is held against the casing.
