Abstract

761,714. Gas meters. KROMSCHRODER AKT.-GES., G. Aug. 13, 1954 [Aug. 13, 1953], No. 23564/54. Class 54. The functions of the inlet and outlet connections 5, 6 of a gas meter may be reversed to facilitate connection to service pipes either by altering the position of a duct 7 to a position shown at 7<SP>1</SP> or by displacing a lid 41 through 180 degrees. A duct 9 leading from the meter mechanism 10 is symmetrically disposed with respect to the connections 5, 6 and forms a gastight joint with the duct 7 which is formed between a plate 8 of channel section and the meter casing. As shown, the duct 5 communicates with the interior of the casing which may be filled with either "measured" or "unmeasured" gas.
