Abstract

619,691. Gas meters. WILSON GAS METERS, Ltd., G., WILSON, W. D., and POOLE, D. C. E. July 4, 1946, No. 19986. [Class 54] A dry gas meter comprises a main moulding in at least two portions meeting in a horizontal plane or planes passing through the two main compartments, the portions being secured together and forming the two main compartments and gas passages communicating with the outlet of the meter, together with a third moulding which encloses the valve mechanism and whose bottom wall forms a valve plate. As shown in Fig. 1, the main moulding comprises an upper portion 12 and a lower portion 13 which join at 14 along a horizontal plane. The interior of the meter is divided by a vertical central partition 15 held in a grooved web 19, the diaphragms 24 being mounted on plates 25 held in grooved webs 20. On the moulding 12 is mounted a a moulding 37 in the form of a hollow chamber, the bottom of this moulding forming a valve plate and having parts which correspond with exhaust passages 18 formed in the moulding 12. The valves 40 are covered by plates 44 and the rest of the meter mechanism (not shown) within the moulding 37 is covered by a top plate 46. Separate end plates 34 are provided. The portions 12, 13 and 37 may be die cast. Specification 605,252 is referred to.
