Gas meters.-In a dry gas meter, the gas is conducted from the valve ports t o the measuring chamber and vice versa by an approximately vertical tubular casting q attached to the dished plate d of the measuring-chamber and adapted to be coupled to another approximately vertical tubular casting p which is attached directly to the underside of one of the valve ports by means of bolts s passing through vertical flanges r, formed on the castings. In the construction of the gas meter before the diaphragm chamber is placed in position. the tube q is soldered at u into a hole in the dished plate d and the tube p is soldered against the valve plate u and outlet duct m of the gas meter, so that this duct forms the fourth side of a box t, provided in the casting p, and the valve plate b forms the top. The diaphragm chamber is then placed in the meter and the flanges r bolted together. Specification 187,368 is referred to.
