405,896. Gas meters. FORRESTER, H. J. C., 88, Chancery Lane, London.- (Pintsch Akt.-Ges., J.; 71, Andreasstrasse, Berlin.) July 29, 1933, No. 21355. [Class 54.] A gas meter of the bellows type shown in Figs. 1 and 2 is provided in its cylindrical wall 2 with two valve chambers 6, 7 soldered beneath caps 3 supporting inlet and outlet connections 4, 5. The chambers 6, 7 are provided with valve seatings 16, 18 opening into a measuring chamber 8 on one side of the diaphragm 9 and with valve seatings 15,17 connected by passages 22, 23 partitioned off in the caps 3 to orifices 24 leading to a measuring chamber 19 on the opposite side of the diaphragm 9. The valve reversing mechanism is arranged in the measuring chamber 8 and a partition 25 fitted with a coin-operated valve 26 may be provided in the measuring chamber 19. To avoid an eccentric mounting of the diaphragm 9 the flange 10 to which the diaphragm is secured may project in the opposite direction to the valve chambers 6, 7. In another construction shown in Fig. 5 double-seated valve housings 27, 28 are inserted with their axes horizontal and slightly staggered in the wall 2, the upper walls of the housings being provided with openings 29, 30 communicating with the pipe connections 4, 5.
