Abstract
625,389. Generating combustion products under pressure. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. July 28, 1947, No. 20281. Convention date, July 30, 1946. [Class 51 (i)] Air for an annular combustion chamber 18 is led to wall perforations 38 along passages between cylindrical partitions 62. The air enters these passages through rotatably adjustable annular ported valve plates 70 and ports in seating plates 40. The shapes of these ports are such that by rotation of the valve plate 70 the division of the total air between the inner and outer passages is varied. To this end, the ports in the plate 40 are rectangular and those in the plate 70 are oblique parallelograms.
