Abstract
671,229. Force-feed lubricating. STIHL, A. Nov. 10, 1949 [May 31, 1949], No. 28823/49. Class 12 (iii). [Also in Group XXVIII] A rotary cylinder 4 is disposed in a casing 1, and has a central transverse bore 3 containing a piston 5 which supplies lubricant to the main bearings, and an eccentric axial bore containing a piston 10 which supplies consumable lubricant to the engine cylinders. The head 11 of the piston 10 engages a fixed cam 13 on a cylindrical sleeve 14 which also carries an eccentric pin 19 which engages a groove in the piston 5. As the cylinder 4 rotates, the cam 13 and pin 19 cause reciprocation of the pistons 10, 5. The stroke of the pistons may be varied on rotation of the sleeve 14 by means of a lever 18 secured thereto.
