Abstract

670,606. Gas meters. NEWTON, R. April 30, 1946, No. 5218/50. Divided out of 670,557 under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 4, 1946. Class 54. The subject-matter of this Specification is substantially described in Specification 670,575, but the claims differ and Fig: 7 shows a modification in which side gas connections are used. The gas passages leading to the valve have co-axial socket members 31 co-operating with elbow connections 33 with a gasket 35 between them, said elbow connections being internally screw threaded to take inlet and outlet gas pipes 36 and 37 formed with hexagonal flanges 23 bearing on side extensions 40 of the top cover 2A and also formed with shoulders 38 having gaskets 39 to make gastight connections. Fig. 9 (not shown) depicts a top connection type of meter with the inlet and outlet pipes so spaced as to be interchangeable with the aforementioned side connection type.
