Abstract

604,855. Gas meters. METERS, Ltd., and SIDES, H. Dec. 6, 1945, No. 33026. [Class 54] A dry gas meter is made from easily assembled sections and comprises two casing parts b, c having mating flanges f, g between which is held the edge of the division wall h between the diaphragms. The division wall is attached to the valve plate a which nests into the flanges i on the parts b, c, the valve chamber enclosure k being placed on the plate a before the vertical parts o of the flanges are turned over the flanges m to hold the nested parts. The ends p of the enclosure k extend over the flanges on the plate a and are soldered thereto. The end covers of the casing are soldered to the inwardly flanged ends of the parts b, c and to the ends p of the enclosure k. The gas inlet and outlet branches, Fig. 7, are soldered to opposite sides of the meter case over the projecting joints formed by bending the flanges f over the flanges g.
