Fig. 4 shows another form in which the plate a is secured to or forms part of its meter, and an apertured parallel partition e in the casing forms with the plate a a space which accommodates any movement of the plate. In another form the self-adjusting connection may consist of a corrugated tube provided between the pipe and the meter or a part slidable in a. stuffing box or gland on the meter casing.
