Joint - making packing.- Casings which are required to be pressure-tight and to resist bursting-pressure, have a joint comprising two pairs of flanges and two sets of bolts, the first pair 2 being thick and having large bolts 3 to resist bursting, and the second pair 4 being thinner and having small bolts 5 to make the joint pressure-tight. The flanges; are flexibly connected by the walls of a channel 6 through which hot fluid may be passed via an opening 8.
