[Also in Group XIII] The casing 1 of a steam trap has an inlet 1a from a vessel to be relieved of water and an outlet or outlets 6, while a cover plate 3a supports a bellows chamber having as its main walls a bellows 2 and a thimble 3 containing a thermally expansible fluid, a valve member 2a on the bellows controlling the inset and the thimble 3 being open to the atmosphere directly or through a discharge conduit. If the trap is to be used on its side, the outlets 6 are formed in the casing 1. The cover p'ate 3a as shown is, an. extended flange of the thimble 3 but it may be a centrallyapertured plate with a flange entering the open end of the thimble 3 or the bellows and thimble may be attached to the cover plate as by soldering or brazing. The beflows 2 may be welded to the cover plate.
