Abstract
669,355. Measuring pressure. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. May 3, 1949. [Oct. 27, 1948] No. 11797/49. Class 40 (i). [Also in Groups XXXVI and XL (a)] A portion 1 of an evacuated envelope 13 is made of palladium or some other metal of the platinum group so that when heated by means of a coil 4, the palladium permits hydrogen to pass therethrough into and out of the envelope. The hydrogen pressure within the envelope is indicated by a meter 2C which measures the hydrogen ion flow tc the negative anode 16. When the device is used as an altimeter the hydrogen pressure varies downwardly from 0.08 m.m. of mercury.
