Abstract
573,916. Dial gauges. REDSHAW, J. C. Nov. 12, 1943, No. 18903. [Class 106 (iv)] A dial gauge has a second pointer c<1> which may be disengaged from the indicating pointer b<1> and after adjustment to any desired position may be engaged again with the indicating pointer to move therewith. In a panel carrying a plurality of such gauges, a11 secondary pointers, which may be luminous, are adjusted to be in the vertical position when the indicating pointers are in normal position. Deviations from normal can then be seen readily from a distance and without knowledge of normal readings. The pointer c<1> is carried by a boss C which may be disengaged from the flange N on the boss B carrying the indicating pointer b<1> by pulling the knob k. Rotation of the pointer c<1> in the free position is achieved through a friction washer D on the spindle of the operating knob.
