668,970. Photographic papers. KODAK, Ltd. March 16, 1950 [March 18, 1949], No. 6597/50. Drawings to Specification. Class 98 (ii). [Also in Group V] A photographic paper support which is overcoated with a silver halide emulsion layer comprises a paper sheet having on one surface thereof a gelatino-baryta layer containing glyoxal as a gelatin hardening agent. Preferably said gelatino-baryta layer contains 1-6 per cent of glyoxal, typically 2 per cent, based on the weight of the gelatine content. In the example given, the gelatino-baryta composition. comprises 20-50 per cent by weight of baryta and 1-15 per cent by weight of gelatin.
