Abstract
667,197. Liquid-fuel burners. LUCAS, Ltd., J. April 14 1950. [May 23, 1949] No. 13662/49. Class 75(i). A liquid-fuel burner has an annular discharge orifice h formed between two circular metal plates a and b and a vaporizing tube g extending into the combustion zone i is connected thereto. As shown the annular discharge orifice is formed between the side of a plate a and the peripheral edge of a plate b mounted on a hollow boss e to which the vaporizing tube g is connected. Combustion air is supplied by a blower through a duct m to pass between a jacket k and a duct into the combustion zone i through ports p, and also to pass through the duct where it is divided into two concentric air streams by a bell-shaped shield o one air stream flowing through a hollow spigot c of the plate a and through a perforated support plate d for the plates a, b, to the region around the annular nozzle and the other stream flowing on the outside of the shield o into the combustion zone i where it meets with the air passing through the orifices p.
