Abstract

665,885. Endless-chain conveyers. FISHER & LUDLOW, Ltd. June 30, 1949. [July 10, 1948] No. 18589/48. Class 78 (i). In a conveyer in which the chain runs on a track and has two sets of rollers, one of which is horizontal for supporting the load and the other of which is vertical for preventing lateral movement, the parts of the track which are curved in a vertical plane are provided on the concave side with vertically projecting guide portions which extend beyond the vertically extending guide faces to engage with either the upper or lower guide rollers. The track 13 is built up as described in Specification 665,886 and the chain is constructed as described in Specification 665,883, [Group XXV]. On the horizontal part of the track the guiding rollers 11, Fig. 3, on the chain engage the vertical flanges 17, 18 of the track 13, but on a curved section, one of each pair of rollers will engage with an extension of either of these flanges, e.g. an extension 22 of the lower flange. Transition guide plates 25, Fig. 5, are provided at the junction of the curved and straight parts of the track. Flanges 16 at the tops of the track sections rest on the flanges 15 of supports 14.
