665,476. Knitting-machines. STIBBE & CO., Ltd., G., STIBBE, E. V., and BROWN, A.M. Jan. 17,1950 [.Jan. 27, 1949], No. 2276/49 Class 74 (ii). A yarn tensioning and feeding device of the type comprising two yarn guiding arms 12, 14 attached to the casing 1, one of the guides 14 serving to vary the position of the yarn between two conical feeding rollers as the other arm 12 is deflected under varying tension of the yarn to oscillate the casing about its central supporting pivot 3, is provided with a weighted lever 10 pivoted to the casing 1 and which bears on a stationary disc 7 to frictionally damp the oscillations of the casing as it pivots about its axis under the influence of the guide arm 12. A weight 23 may be attached to a cover for the casing to enable the tension exerted on the yarn by the arm 12 to be varied, an indicator 22 fixed to the casing and registering with graduations 24 on the cover serving to indicate the position of the weight.
