658,859. Oil-fuel burners. BJORNEVIK, B. M. Feb. 8, 1949, No. 3434. Convention date, Feb. 28, 1948. '[Class 75(i)] In an oil-fuel burner gasified oil fuel is delivered into a mixing chamber 20 by an inlet 19 terminating within, and a short distance from, the mixing chamber outlet, the gas being delivered against the air flow coming from a guide 21 which imparts a rotary movement to the air supplied to the mixing chamber 20 and the resultant mixture being passed through an outlet 22 also constructed as a whirl-forming device..Oil is supplied by pipe 2 to a tank 3 under the control of a float valve 4/5 and passes by a filter 9 and thermostat-controlled valve 11 to enter by pipe 10 a gasifier 16 located in the combustion space 15. The gasified oil is discharged by pipe 19 into the mixing chamber 20 against the whirling air flow coming from guide vanes 21. The gasifier comprises two compartments joined by a U-bend pipe 18 rising above the fuel level of tank 3. Should float valve.4/5 fail oil overflows through pipe 6 into a bucket 7 to close the main stop valve 1. The burner is heated prior to starting by burning oil in a tray 24.
