Abstract

631,582. Vapour burners. MARTIRI, R. Dec. 30, 1947, No. 34905. [Class 75(i)] In a burner system in which hydrocarbon fuel is supplied, preferably by gravity, to a gasifier 1 joined by a connecting piece 2 to a gas chamber 3, which supplies one or more main burners (not shown) and an auxiliary burner 8 for heating the gasifier 1 and the gas chamber 3, each burner having a separate fuel supply arrangement comprising a mixing chamber, an air inlet duct, and a nozzle, the connecting piece 2 constitutes a housing for at least one of the elements of a valve device. As shown the connecting piece 2 houses the valve 10 controlling and/or cleaning the nozzle 5 supplying the mixing chamber 6 of the auxiliary burner 8. The connecting piece 2 may, alternatively, or in addition, contain a valve adapted to close the passage between the gasifier 1 and the gas chamber 3. The nozzle 5 may be formed separate from the connecting piece 2 and integrally with the gas chamber 3.
