Abstract
896,494. Liquid fuel burners. ZAVODY V.I. LENINA. June 29, 1960 [July 8, 1959], No. 22716/60. Class 75(1) A liquid fuel burner comprises a hollow body 12 supplied with air through a conduit 1 and a nozzle having two communicating chambers 4, 5, the first chamber 4 being supplied with fuel through a nozzle 15 and with air from the body 12 through tangential ports 6, the second chamber 5 being supplied with air from the body 12 through tangential ports 7 directed oppositely to the ports 6 of the first chamber 4. The fuel is atomized by the tangential air supplies and the mixture passes to a combustion chamber 39. The fuel nozzle 15 is cleaned by a needle 18 extending through the fuel pipe 16 and held in retracted position by a spring 21. The air supply is controlled by a valve 2. The fuel supply is controlled by a needle valve (not shown) controlled by a diaphragm actuated by the air pressure in a chamber on one side of the diaphragm connected by a pipe 9 to the hollow body 12. An adjustable spring acts on the diaphragm and closes the needle fuel valve when the air supply to the hollow body 12 is below a predetermined pressure.
