Abstract
678,231. Spray carburetters. LOWE, J. S. Feb. 5, 1951 [Feb. 8, 1950], No. 3241/50. Class 7(iii) [Also in Group XI] In a fuel supply system for burners oil is atomized and mixed with air in a nozzle arrangement and the mixture is delivered under pressure to a service pipe 7 feeding two or more burners, the surplus mixture being returned to the nozzle arrangement for admixture with new oil and air. The nozzle arrangement comprises a nozzle 6 supplied with air through a disc valve 3 and with oil through a valve controlled pipe 1 and the mixture is delivered to a compressor 10 which discharges into the service pipe 7 from which pipes 8 lead to the individual burners. The service pipe extends to a conical chamber 4 surrounding the nozzle 6, the unused mixture entering the chamber tangentially. In a modification the unused mixture discharges axially into a nozzle supplied with oil and disposed within a pipe having a valve controlled air inlet.
