Abstract

658,484. Operating clutches. NAAMLOO ZE VENNOOTSCHAP NEGUM, and HAMMERSCHLAG, G. Nov. 7; 1949, No. 28509. [Class 80(ii)] In a mechanical press in which the stroke of the tool is adjustable by means of an adjustable eccentric 18, the point at which a rotary key clutch 8 disengages the. drive from a flywheel 9 to the eccentric shaft 3 is also adjustable. An abutment 7 for engaging the key is radially slidable in a cover 2 which can be angularly adjusted in relation to the machine frame 6 by means of bolts 4 sliding in a circular groove 5. The abutment 7 is adapted to be actuated by a pin 10 on a lever 11 which is pivoted at 12 to the cover 2 and is adapted to be locked by, a bolt 13 in a circular groove of a ring 14 which is operated by the clutch control rod 16 of the machine through an arm 15 and guided for concentric movement by three rollers 20. Thus by unlocking bolts 4 and 13 and moving the cover 2 to a fresh position and relocking these bolts the position at-which the key clutch is disengaged is altered without upsetting the control mechanism.
