Abstract
654,548. Circular saw mounting; grinding. EGERTON TOOL & INSTRUMENT CO., Ltd., and BROWNE, C. E. Sept. 17, 1948, No. 24468. [Classes 60 and 145(ii)] A circular saw bench having a table 6 through a slot in which the saw 19 projects is characterized by the saw spindle 18 and the driving shaft being parallel and interconnected by a belt and pulley mechanism 21, 31, 33, each being carried by a pivoted framework 10. 27 arranged to be moved in parallelism with one another. The frameworks are interconnected by tie-rods 34, 35 and are clamped in arcuate slots 14, 24 by locking nuts 15, 25. A spring 37 secured at one end to the main frame and at the other end to the cross-bar 23 tends to counteract the weight of the motor. The table top may be pivoted and a sanding disc or plate may be attached to the end of the saw spindle which projects through the side casing.
