Abstract

620,520. Grinding. DOOLEY, A. P. Nov. 7, 1946, No. 33181. [Class 60] [Also in Group XXII] Chains J for detachably securing an electric grinding machine L to a bracket D adjustably fixed on a pillar or other support, extend from a clamping pad H and pass at their ends laterally between two abutments D<SP>3</SP>, D<SP>4</SP> so as to interlock with one or both of these members and prevent endwise movement of the chain, the clamping pad having means H' finally to tighten the chains. The bracket D slides on a member C, rotatably carried on a bracket adjustably carried on the pillar, and is fed by a hand-lever F, pivoted at D<SP>2</SP>, against a spring F' anchored to a pivoted member F<SP>1</SP>. Alternatively, it is fed by a screw held axially fast by a swivelling catch engaging a slot E<SP>1</SP>. The screw H' abuts a plate H<SP>2</SP> shaped to engage the machine casing. The pillar may be mounted on a base or provided with clamps for attachment to a girder &c.
