Abstract

230,642. Robinson & Son, Ltd., T., Robinson, C. J., and Tweedale, J. March 29, 1924. Fences.-A saw-bench fence 1 is primarily adjusted by means of a rack 2 and pinion 6 mounted on a shaft 8 carrying a dial 11 adjusted by means of a handle 14 upon a plate 12 having a ring of holes 13 engaged by a spring pin 15 in the handle. A lever 16 is provided for raising the handle 14 so as to disengage the pin. A secondary adjustment is afforded by means of a pin 19 mounted in the main supporting bracket 4 and provided with an eccentric part 19<a> engaging a slot 20 in the plate 12, a spring lever 21 with a locking stud 22 being attached to the pin 19 and being arranged to work under a locking plate 24. A slot 25 and clamping bolt 26 may be provided for adjusting the dial pointer. The bracket 4 carries the rack 2 in a split bush 3, which may be tightened by means of bolts (not shown) for taking up wear.
