423,559. Grinding card flats. AKT.- GES. J. J. RIETER & CIE, Winterthur, Switzerland. June 21, 1934, No. 18435. Convention date, June 21, 1933. [Class 60] In a device for grinding card flats, the grinding-roller 5 is carried by levers 3, which at one end fit over eccentric bushes 2 secured to a shaft 1 by set screws and prevented from axial movement by rings 9, the shaft being mounted in a part 10 of the grinder casing 11 and prevented from rotating by a screw 4. At the other end, the levers 3 have bosses 6 engaged by nuts 7 on screws 8 screwing into pins 12. In operation, the flats 13 carried by the chains 14 pass beneath the grinding-roller 5, which is adjusted towards or from the flat teeth 15 by turning the shaft 1 and bushes 2; further adjustment is obtained by means of the nuts 7 and the screws 8.
