437,405. Opening wool. WINDLE, W. W., 95, West Main Street, Millbury, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Dec. 8, 1934, No. 35361. Convention date, Dec,. 8, 1933. [Class 120 (i)] The casing 12 of an opener for raw wool comprising a cylinder 13 having spaced radial blades 17, is formed with a series of surfaces 20 disposed substantially at right-angles to lines drawn tangential to the beater so as to receive the material thrown out therefrom, the material being thrown against the first surface and broken the separated material falling back on to the beater and being thrown successively against the other surfaces. The surfaces 20 are joined by walls 21. The shaft 14 of the cylinder 13 is mounted slightly below the line of feed between the rollers 11. The opened wool and waste material are delivered together down the shoot 22. Specification 10414/05, [Class 120], is referred to.
