Abstract
470,441. Endless - belt drawing - apparatus for rovings. CASABLANCAS, F. Sept. 15, 1936, No. 25135. Convention date, Oct. 2, 1935. [Class 120 (ii)] In endless-belt drawing-apparatus the intermediate rollers 3, 4, which carry the belts are lightly and preferably adjustably weighted to permit sliding of the fibres, the drawing taking place between the feed and delivery rollers which are weighted as usual to prevent sliding. The intermediate rollers 3, 4 are geared together, and are both fluted to prevent slipping of the belts, and are adjustably weighted, as by a draw rod 12 and lever 13, Fig. 3, or by a casing 22, Fig. 6, adapted to enclose the gears. The arrangement permits the reverse mounting of the belts shown in Fig. 10, and may be used in high-draft arrangements wherein the roving is subjected to two successive drawing operations.
