Friction gearing.-In friction reducing-gearing. a double-tapered driving-roller 9 carried adjustably in the casing 3 gears directly with an adjustable driven drum 5 and with a loose ring 13 gearing through idler rollers (not shown), similar to the roller 9, with the drum 5. The roller 9 is formed in two spring-pressed parts 14, 15 sliding on a flat 17 on the driving-spindle 16.
