Abstract

916,106. Chain gearing. REMMELE ENGINEERING Inc. Feb. 27, 1961 [March 14, 1960], No. 7134/61. Class 80 (1). Mechanism for obtaining intermittent rotary motion of a shaft 36 from a continuously-driven input gear 23 comprises a sprocket 27 rigidly secured to the input gear 23 and having its effective circumference precisely intersecting the axis of gear 23, a sprocket 33 secured to the output shaft 36, a chain 42 passing around the sprockets and chain tensioning means. A compensator gear 46, mounted on a stub-shaft 47, meshes input gear 23 and carries a sprocket 52 freely rotatable on a stub shaft 50. The chain 42 passes around sprocket 52 and an idler roller 53 freely mounted on a stub shaft 54, the chain being tensioned by a block 58 pivotally mounted on a spring-pressed rocker-arm 55. The input gear 23 is driven from an electric motor 15 through a gear-box 16 and pinion 22. An indicating disc 38 is secured to the output shaft 36.
