Abstract

497,244. Cutting blanks. CO-OPERATIVE WHOLESALE SOCIETY, Ltd., and ROBERTS, S. W. July 6, 1937, No. 18719. [Class 31 (i)] [Also in Group XVII] In a machine for cutting and creasing card blanks, the waste portions of the blanks are removed by a member e which rotates in time with the cutting and creasing rollers and is provided with a lug f, the latter pressing the waste portion of a blank i through an aperture h in a stationary plate g. The leading and trailing edges of the aperture h are cut-away to clear the sweep of the lug. The cylinder is driven from the cutting roller by a belt d and it is provided with a recess e<1> to accommodate the leading end of the blank if the latter arrives in a bent state.
