Class 145 (ii) In a saw bench having a fixed table top and a circular saw carried by a pivotially mounted arm, the drive to the saw 1 is effected by a single belt 13 passing over a pulley 15 coaxial with the pivot 4 of the saw-carrying arm 3, a pulley 14 fast on the saw shaft, a spring loaded jockey pulley 19 and a motor pulley 16, and the saw is adjusted by a screw device operated by a hand wheel 12. A screw clamping device 26 may maintain the saw in its adjusted position. A riving knife 27 mounted on an extension 28 of the arm 3 moves with the saw. The prime mover may be an electric motor, as shown, or an internal-combustion engine.
