[Also in Groups XXIV and XXXV] A belt or rope driving arrangement for a universal wood-working machine comprises a driving motor D, Fig. 2, with a driving pulley C mounted upon a bracket E which is pivoted at F so that the motor can be swung into position with its axis parallel to any one of the shafts and connected up by a belt or rope. Bracket E may be pivoted at F to a second bracket which is pivoted on an axis at right angles to F so that universal adjustment can be obtained. As applied to a universal wood-working machine, Fig. 4, having a saw 3, a planer 4 and drill 5 driven off a pulley 6 which is in turn driven from the motor 10 by a belt 9, the motor is mounted upon a bearing B and adapted to be swung round thereon through 90 degrees in order to drive by a suitable belt the spindle of a moulding tool 12 carried on a hinged table 11 when this table is raised to its horizontal position. A pivoted bracket 13 is also provided for a toolholder 14 for operating, when the bracket is swung into operative position, overhead on the workpiece. This tool holder can be driven by a belt onto pulley 15 from a pulley on the saw spindle.
