[Class 60] An endless belt type grinder includes a driving pulley mounted on a shaft extending outwardly from a table so that the part of the belt resting on the driving pulley is accessible from all sides; and a tension pulley carried by a loaded arm pivoted at one end of a support pivoted at its other end so as to be swingable in a vertical plane. An endless abrasive belt 18 runs over a driving pulley 3 on the end of a driven shaft extending beyond a table 21 ; and over a tension pulley 5 mounted on one arm of a counterweighted lever 9 pivoted at the upper end of a support 6, which is so pivoted at its lower end as to be swingable and adjustable in a vertical plane. Another abrasive belt 17 runs over a second driving pulley 2 on the motor shaft, over an adjustable tension pulley 4 and over a plane guide 14. In another embodiment suitable for grinding cavities, an additional, lockable arm 37, Fig. 6, is pivoted alongside the tension pulley 5 and has at its other end a pulley 38 over which, and a guide pulley 39, runs a part 18<1> of the belt 18.
