[Class 80 (i)] [Also in Group XXXV] An electric motor a and a pulley b are mounted on an arm d pivoted at e, a pulley on the motor driving the pulley b by a belt c. When a pulley h is to be driven, the belt is brought into contact with it by lowering the arm d. The belt is automatically tensioned by a spring f which presses against a slide block g carrying the pulley bearings, but it may be tensioned by a screw- and-nut device. In a modification, the motor a and pulley b are disposed on opposite sides of the fulcrum e. According to the Provisional Specification, the weight of the motor may be used to give the driving pressure.
