Abstract

636,485. Converting rotary into reciprocating motion. SOC. ITALIANA-BREDA PER COSETRUZIONI MECCANICHE. May 2, 1947, No. 11845. Convention date, Nov. 18, 1944. [Class 80 (i) In a device for converting rotary into reciprocating motion, two connecting rods 6, 7 are pivoted, at one end to points A, B on a chain or similar flexible member 1 connecting sprockets 2, 3 one of which is the driving member, and at the other end to a common journal mounted on a slipper 13 engaged in a slide 14 from which the reciprocating motion is communicated to a rod 17. The slide 14 has a slide block 15 moving on a slide 16. A track 10, 11, traversed by rollers 8, 9 mounted on pins 4, 5 on the chain, guides the points A, B. As the end of a stroke is approached, the arrangement provides for an automatic deceleration, a period of rest, and then automatic acceleration. The rest period is adjustable by changing the spacing between the points A, B.
